Welcome TO

In the twinkling of an eye, change can happen. The shutter clicks and captures the moment. Through the lens of our cameras, we seek to unfold the layers of the human spirit.

With individual photographic eyes, we come together, with an unbridled passion, and use our cameras to interpret the human condition. We document the gamut of emotions— hope and helplessness, beauty and depravity, happiness and heartbreak, life and even its eventuality, death. We are Sistagraphy----Sisters of Artistry.

A diverse collective of African American women photographers, we capture moments and document events that awaken the sleeping conscious, and weave together a strong social fiber. We explore and embrace theme-based imagery. Our visual documentaries have told, and will continue to tell, stories of life’s journeys, often capturing ordinary people in extraordinary places, situations or circumstances

For example, one of our theme-based exhibits, “Soaring without Wings,” was a testament to the strength of the human spirit. It included a breast cancer survivor’s journey from the despair of the diagnosis, to grueling chemotherapy treatments, to her life as a cancer survivor.

Others theme-based exhibit titles are: “And Still We Rise, How Women Photograph the South,” “Food for the Soul,” “The Power of Self,” and “Free for All,” to name a few

Our photographs hang in local and national art galleries, as well as public spaces, libraries and many college campuses. Although Atlanta-based, some of our members reside in the state of New York City, the west coast of California, Cleveland and as far away as Havana, Cuba.

As we lay bare our photographic souls, we invite you into our journey of self

Through the eyes of our camera lens, And of all the wonders that you view, You may be surprised to see, The most magnificent wonder Is You.

Yours in Artistry
